Pretty picture: Paphiopedilum Voodoo Kitty

The best thing about these dark Paphiopedilum hybrids is the way they evoke the xenomorph queen from the Alien movies. This is probably not what everybody gets out of looking at paphs, I suppose, but I like it.

Paphiopedilum Voodoo Kitty = Paphiopedilum Alma Gevaert x Paphiopedilum Voodoo Magic (Ref.)

(And speaking of Alien: is it worth checking Prometheus out of the library? The reviews for it were kind of all over the place.)

I only saw Prometheus because it was on cable... that being said, it keeps to the series formula ( ie... a group shows up, begins more or less poking things with sticks, things wake up and arent happy. Military types die, naive science types die, the always female hero tries to kill everything while a corporate type tries to find a way to turn a profit.) The ALIEN series has great FX, it's kind of macabre eye candy, and that usually makes it worth seeing. I lost most interest in the series when they made Alien vs predator... but if the thing is from the library for free or cheap, why not?

I regret paying for Prometheus, it is now a bird-scarer because I did not want to be responsible for any one seeing it. Having said that you have to see it to decide for yourself. It is a sort of Alien film even if it is a mess. Eye candy? Certainly. Rational character behaviour? No. Believable plot? No. Interesting characters? No.

If you like to make up your own back story that can explain what you see on screen you will love it. It is a real challenge. "This planet has 20% laughing gas in the atmosphere" might explain some of it.

The short Batman vs. Predator impressed me much more.
